Post-wise Educational Qualification & Age Limit
1. Administrative Officer
Pay Level: Level 10
Maximum Age: 40 years
Qualification: Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks or an equivalent grade.
Recruitment: Direct recruitment through written test and interview.
2. Senior Assistant
Pay Level: Level 6
Maximum Age: 35 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University/Institution.
Experience: Three years’ experience as Assistant or equivalent in Level-4. The notification specifies eligible experience in Central/State Government, University, PSU, autonomous bodies or specified reputed private companies/corporates/banks.
Additional Requirement: Proficiency in computer applications, noting and drafting, etc.
3. Junior Assistant
Pay Level: Level 2
Maximum Age: 32 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree from any recognized Institute/University.
Typing: English typing at 35 wpm OR Hindi typing at 30 wpm.
Other Requirement: Proficiency in computer operations.
4. Laboratory Assistant
Pay Level: Level 4
Maximum Age: 32 years
Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree with at least two years of working and maintenance experience with sophisticated scientific instruments in a laboratory.
The relevant subject will be decided by the University according to the functional requirement of the concerned department. The experience should be in a University/Research Establishment/Central or State Government/PSU/Autonomous Body or a reputed private organization having annual turnover of at least ₹200 crore.
5. Laboratory Attendant
Pay Level: Level 1
Maximum Age: 32 years
Qualification – Route 1: 10+2 with Science stream from a recognized Central/State Board.
OR
Qualification – Route 2: 10th pass from a recognized Central/State Board with Science as one of the subjects and a skill certificate programme in Laboratory Technology or ITI in a relevant trade.
6. Library Attendant
Pay Level: Level 1
Maximum Age: 32 years
Qualification: 10+2 or equivalent from a recognized Board.
Additional Qualification: Certificate course in Library Science from a recognized Institution.
Note: Candidates shall also be assessed for knowledge of computer applications.

If applying for more than one post, candidates must submit separate applications and pay the prescribed fee separately. The fee once paid will not be refunded.
Age Relaxation
The upper age limit is relaxable for SC, ST, OBC, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen and other specified categories according to applicable Central Government orders adopted by the University of Delhi.
The notification also provides specified relaxation for eligible employees having at least three years of regular service in the same or allied field in Government Departments, statutory/autonomous bodies, universities, affiliated/constituent colleges or PSUs.
Departmental candidates of the University/College are subject to the specific provisions mentioned in the advertisement. Candidates already working on contract/daily wages/ad-hoc basis in the University or its Colleges may also be covered by the one-time age exemption specified in the notification, subject to the stated conditions.

The Preliminary Test covers General Knowledge, Reasoning, Mathematical Ability and Administration of Higher Educational Institutions. The Main Examination covers the Constitution of India, Indian political system and economy, General Studies, and Acts, Statutes and Ordinances of the University of Delhi.
Laboratory Assistant & Laboratory Attendant Exam Pattern
For Laboratory Assistant and Laboratory Attendant recruitment, the Preliminary Test contains 150 questions for 300 marks and is used for shortlisting. The subjects include domain knowledge, reasoning, mathematical ability and administration of higher educational institutions.
The Main Examination is descriptive and carries 300 marks. It covers laboratory procedures and norms, computer knowledge, educational administration and management and relevant domain knowledge.
The Skill Test is of 100 marks and candidates must obtain at least 50 marks to qualify. The Skill Test is qualifying in nature and does not carry weightage in the final merit.
Preliminary Test – Important Rules
- The Preliminary Test is MCQ based.
- Each question carries 2 marks.
- There is negative marking of 0.5 mark for each wrong answer.
- The Preliminary Test is generally used for shortlisting and has no weightage in the final assessment for the posts where the notification specifies this arrangement.
- The qualifying cut-off is based on 50% of the average score of the top 5% candidates.
- There is a 5% relaxation for SC/ST candidates and 10% for PwBD candidates, calculated on the UR cut-off.
- For one vacancy, 30 candidates are shortlisted based on the Preliminary Test. For each additional vacancy, 15 additional candidates are shortlisted.
- Candidates securing the same marks as the cut-off are also shortlisted for the next stage.
Question Paper Language
The Preliminary Test, Main Examination and Skill Test question papers are bilingual in English and Hindi. Candidates may respond in either language, but the same medium must be used throughout the examination.

Documents & Certificates
Candidates should keep the relevant educational, experience, category and other supporting documents ready. Candidates claiming reservation or age relaxation must possess valid certificates in the prescribed format.
For OBC (NCL), the notification requires a valid certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026 and based on the Central List, with the required non-creamy-layer status. Important Instructions for Candidates
