Introduction
East Central Railway has issued a tender notification for selection of Station Ticket Booking Agents (STBA) for four stations under Sonpur Division.

Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
The applicant must have passed at least 10th Standard.
Age Limit
The minimum age prescribed for the applicant is 18 years at the time of application.
Residence Requirement
The applicant must be a resident of the district in which the station for which he/she is applying is situated.
A residence certificate issued by the prescribed authority such as SDM / BDO / CO is required as specified in the notification.

Since all four stations listed in this notification are NSG-6, the applicable earnest money for these stations is ₹2,000.
The Demand Drafts are to be prepared in favour of FA & CAO, E.C. Railway, Hajipur, payable at Hajipur.
After issue of the work order, the selected STBA is required to submit the prescribed security deposit. For an NSG-6 station, the security deposit is ₹10,000.
STBA Commission Structure
The STBA arrangement is commission-based. The notification prescribes the following commission slabs:

Selection Process
The selection is carried out according to the prescribed tender conditions and commission quoted by eligible applicants.

STBA Work & Responsibilities
The Station Ticket Booking Agent is responsible for carrying out ticket booking work according to the Railway's prescribed rules and conditions.
- Booking of unreserved tickets through the computerized UTS system.
- Operation of the ticket booking facility according to the prescribed working arrangement.
- Collection and proper handling of ticket sale amounts.
- Deposit of ticket sale amounts with the Station Master / Assistant Station Master as prescribed.
- Following Railway rules, instructions and procedures applicable to STBA work.
- Maintaining proper conduct and providing the required ticket booking service to passengers.
Working Hours
The STBA booking arrangement is operated according to the prescribed 8-hour shift arrangement and the requirements of the station.
The detailed working arrangement is subject to the instructions of the Railway administration and the conditions mentioned in the tender document.
Engagement of Assistants
The selected STBA may engage assistants at his/her own cost for carrying out the work, subject to the prescribed conditions.
Such assistants must fulfil the required documentation and approval requirements, and their engagement is subject to permission/approval of the competent Railway authority.
Facilities & Expenses
According to the tender conditions, Railway administration provides the prescribed space for STBA work.
- Free space is provided for the STBA arrangement as prescribed.
- Hardware and software maintenance is borne by Railway as per the tender conditions.
- Electricity-related expenses are covered according to the prescribed arrangement.
- Channel/connectivity-related expenses are also dealt with according to the tender conditions.
Penalty & Complaints
The STBA is expected to remain available and perform the assigned work properly according to the Railway's requirements.
In case of interruption caused due to STBA's non-availability or negligence, the penalty may be imposed according to the prescribed tender conditions. The notification provides for penalty linked with the average daily UTS ticket sale income, subject to the prescribed minimum amount.
The tender conditions also provide for penalty in cases involving public complaints or violations of the prescribed conditions.

Contract Period & Termination

- The applicant is not currently selected/working as STBA at another station.
- The applicant is not working in any Government or Non-Government department as stated in the prescribed declaration.

- The declaration is being submitted voluntarily and according to the prescribed tender requirements.
